SPECIAL EVENTS!

CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA &
I PAGLIACCI

FRIDAY MARCH 13, 2009
8PM AT THE BARDAVON

Teatro Lirico D’Europa delivers the
famous operatic double-bill, bringing
with it the intense drama, passionate
lyricism and ultimate tragedy of
obsessive love. Set in a Sicilian
village on Easter Day, Mascagni’s
“Cavalleria Rusticana” unleashes
a tale of adultery and betrayal that
can only bring revenge and death.
With all the irony of a play within a
play, Leoncavallo’s “I Pagliacci” takes
infidelity off the stage of a troupe of
traveling actors and into their lives,
ending in murder and the creation of
the iconic melancholy clown.

AN AFTERNOON WITH GARRISON KEILLOR
SUNDAY MARCH 15, 2009
3PM AT UPAC

Garrison Keillor is the host
and writer of A Prairie Home
Companion
and The Writer’s
Almanac
heard on public radio
stations across the country and
the author of more than a dozen books, including Lake Wobegon Days, The Book of Guys, Love Me and Homegrown Democrat. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts & Letters and the Episcopal church.
