delighted to welcome back this inspiring twosome! Kev Marcus and Wil b are
Black Violin, two classically trained musicians who, along with their DJ
TK, have created the ultimate synergy between classical and hip-hop music
and with it an incredible opportunity to reach children. In 2005 the group
was awarded the prestigious title of &quot;Apollo Legends&quot;. Kev Marcus
and Wil b, both graduates of Dillard Performing Arts High School, used
their musical talents to earn full scholarships to college. Now Black
Violin want to make sure that North America's young people get the same
exposure to the arts, and therefore, the same opportunity that they did.
Performing and touring with Alica Keyes, P Diddy, and Akon to name a few,
Black Violin has committed themselves for the next few years to give back

repertoire in its 30th Annual Gala at the Bardavon Opera House. Program
includes George Balanchine&rsquo;s <em><strong>Tchaikovsky Pas de
Deux</strong></em>, especially added for this anniversary season, as well
as <em><strong>Take Off</strong></em> by Larry Keigwin and Whispers in the
Dark by Edwaard Liang &ndash; both works newly created on the company. The
program will include faculty and student pieces as well as the
<em><strong>Dance of the Odalisques</strong></em> by Marius Petipa and a
Bollywood style finale to the A.R. Rahman hit song <em><strong>Jai Ho

residency with 75 sixth graders at Poughkeepsie Middle School, led by Hip
Hop&rsquo;s Playback Theater NYC. HHT has been integral to our
Arts-in-Education Program since 2006. Each year, it offers up students from
underserved inner-city schools a powerful arts-based learning
experience.</p> <p>Through this innovative, multi-faceted workshop,
students study poetry, graffiti, music and dance, drawing on their own
creative abilities and gaining knowledge and skills in each discipline.
They connect with the rhythms of their bodies and explore the art of the
written and spoken word. They discover the satisfaction that striving for a

<description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Strawberry Hill Fiddlers</strong> are a group of fiddling
teenagers from various high schools in and around Dutchess County, New
York. Proceeds from this performance will support the Fiddlers&rsquo;
upcoming UK tour in June - July 2012. The group performs traditional music
from across the world, and are known to sing, dance, improvise, and solo
throughout their shows. This concert will feature Scottish, Irish,
Scandinavian, southern American old-time, bluegrass, Mariachi, and French
Canadian fiddle tunes and songs.<br /> Directed by Emily and Carole Schaad,
the group has been evolving since 1999. The Fiddlers are part of
Stringendo, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit community music school.</p> <p
